Upcoming 2018 Fashion Trends: Part One

Twenty Eighteen has already turned out to be a pretty amazing year- and it’s about to get even better, fashionista’s!

I’ve been searching for ideas and inspiration for you (well, for us, and my boutique, and because new fashion seasonal trends make me all warm and fuzzy on the inside) that’ll guide you into the 2018 seasons and will set you up for an incredibly stylish year! *This does not mean run and burn your entire 2017 wardrobe* A bunch of last years prized styles still hold up, and will for a while. Basics wardrobe, anyone?

Number One: FLORALS.

Florals have been around for the past few seasons (so you don’t have to put those pieces away- yet) and aren’t going anywhere in the upcoming 2018 seasons either! I personally love floral dresses because they’re so incredibly easy to throw on, dress up or leave dressed down, and head out the door! (Can I get a shout out, fellow mamas?!)

This is the Madison Strappy Floral Dress from Sophia Ann Boutique. I’m absolutely in love with it- it’s so comfortable and is the perfect transitional dress into Spring! (How cute is that criss cross back detail?!) There’s also an adorable Ivory version that would be perfect for Spring and Summer.

Fashion tip: Have any floral pieces you that highlight your bust area? Because that’s the next “it” trend. More on that in Part Two!

Number Two: Yellow is the New Pink.

Yellow is projected to be the upcoming seasons’ hit color. From clothing to home, make up and beauty- pops of yellow hues are everything.

Say what you want about Kourtney Kardashian, or any Kardashians for that matter– but don’t ever say she doesn’t know her fashion! This girl always kills the game. Sure, there may have been one or two outfits that I’ve rolled my eyes at too- because I could never pull it off (not even in my dreams) but I caught on a few years ago when I’d see her wearing certian styles and then two or three months later the style is alive & poppin’ in the real world like clockwork!

On the most recent episode of KUWTK you can see Kourt stylin’ some light yellow eyeshadow and I about died from how adorable the look was. You better believe I went straight out and got a MAC pallet because I loved it so much!

Number Three: The 80’s & 90’s Are Back, Baby!

LE SPECS ENCHANTRESS // LE SPECS THE LAST LOLITA

Skinny Sunglasses are everything right now. I’m not saying you need to run and get rid of all of your big shades, but add a pair of skinny 90s inspired shades into your collection. Loving these Le Specs “The Last Lolita” Shades in the pictures above & linked them for you!

While we’re talking about the 90’s: Metallic fabrics & fanny packs are back and will be huge again this year. On the runway this year, fanny packs were seen in both formal and casual looks! Below I’ve attached two of my favorite, feminine street-style looks that anyone could totally rock- and chances are, you already have a piece or two in your closet!

// BLACK LEATHER FANNY PACK ($30) // GREY SWEATER (UNDER $15) // PANTS (UNDER $50) // OR LEATHER PANTS (SALE UNDER $30)

There will be a “Number Two” to this 2018 upcoming trends topic, with more details and style tips on metallics, “mom jeans” and the “Meghan Movement” (what’s the Meghan Movement? You’ll have to read the next post to find out!) so be sure to subscribe to Bright Peonies to stay in-the-know!
